Default Download Windows XP Oracle Server

hey all,,
I have downloaded OracleXEClient (Oracle Express Edition Client)
when i Run the SQL Command Line and type the command
CREATE TABLE; or any other command,, it says
SP2-0640: not connected.

it seems that before i can use the command line i should install
the sql server on my computer(localhost)

what is the suitable version of that?

what are the steps of setting up the local host server for SQL..

am not sure if the problem is related to the localhost or not.

NOTE: am seeking to use SQL*PLUS and not MySQL.

thanks.

They have Windows XP version too go to following page:
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Downloads for Microsoft Windows

Grab OracleXE.exe server software. If you need client to connect from another computer grab OracleXEClient.exe too.
