Default Problem with USB connection to Airtel Beetel Router

Hi,

I am currently using the airtel modem to connect two users. I use the USB connection whereas my friend who shares the connection with me uses the Ethernet one.

The problem I am facing is that my connection gets disconnected on its own after some period of time. It does not generally occur while I am chatting etc though it has happened then also. But I notice it mainly when I leave some torrents to download. I leave the computer on but when I come back the network is off and downloads have stopped, messenger has been signed out of. Then I have to disable and re-enable the connection and then it works fine again.

I dont think this is a problem with the USB cable since I have tried it out with another one as well and I face the same problem. I have no idea if this is the drawback of sharing a connection or not.

Please Advice.

Thanks

Try out few things:

There is an option for modem, which drop connection automatically if it is inactive.
Make sure it is turned off?

Use updated driver for your modem

Flash the firmware

If everything fails, call your ISP Airtel and ask to replace the USB modem.

If you do heavy download, I recommend getting Ethernet based router/modem.
