Airtel is a good ISP / service provider.

Speeds are constant, 99% uptime (my personal exerpince).

To use irc you need to connect different port (default port is blocked), Bittorent is allowed and they don’t throttle bandwidth.

One more suggestion go for router based modem (DLink or Bettel 220x). Don’t use USB as it is not at all compatible with Linux.

I don't have any problem with billing.

since 2005? excellent connectivity. right now 512 UL. connectivity via d-link 500t and many more, just a mix and match of tech.

"Do they allow IRC and bittorent ?" could you be a bit more specific? like you want to connect to any remote IRCD server for chat/warez and also use the p2p like limewire and torrent for file sharing (legal/warez)? "OR" you want to set up an IRCD server using port 6667 as the access point? ircd 6667 is blocked because of many crawls and worms which are a gift of M$ OS, and they set up porn/warez servers in your PC/Network. you can bypass 6667 with any other IRCD ports. you can even push it to edge using some other ports in ircd.conf file or use ssh port fwd or use the default other ports eg 6668-7000 and there is a nice article on how to use the existing router modem, ITS NOT A ROUTER, its a misconception that its a router, router is never 999 bucks its min 6000-7000 INR.
p.s. i am a low rank tester & dev of atheme irc services and charbydis ircd and also a user cum tester of ratbox efnet's IRCD, got newly RE-recruited in the team, once again. hurrayyyyyyy.

oh bummer, you just got me stumped with this question. till 2006 march? they had those bill collection agents who will come monthly and take the dough. now? they stopped and i get calls "come and pay" and i say "come and take" good'ol lazy crazy policy.
over all on a scale of 5?
airtel = 4.2/5.0
