What command we have to use to find the ram utilisation for a particular user in linux

Try smem command ( see FAQ Linux: Find Out What Process Are Using Swap Space ). The command to report memory usage by user:

You can also use combination of ps and other tools.

If i put smem -u it is saying command not found my kernal version is 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5PAE
