Default Can a home directory be generated for a new user if they access a server through another application

I have a rhel 5 test server that users authenticate through active directory to access. If i have an account that has never logged on before, can I set up any way to generate their home directory if they 1.) don't have one (which they shouldn't if it's a new account) and 2.) if they access the server through an application (WinSCP in this case).

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
You can try to implement winbind on client RHEL box for create their home directories automatically like we do autofs with NIS configuration.

Do you know if that will work no matter how they log in? Currently if they do a ssh terminal session their first time it will create their home directory but if they do a winscp connection the first time, it won't.
