Exclamation strange task

Hi

this is noctemIV once again, I have a task for a course i´m taking and anybody I ask about how to get it done says the task itself is retarded, I really don´t know why because i´m kind of new to linux.

so this is what i need to set up:

a setup (one server, one workstation) for a fictional Internet cafe. the instructor should be able to log on to the workstation but not be able to modify the workstation (or server) in any manner that would survive the logon session. The workstation should have at least one usable application(i.e: OpenOffice, computer game,?). The workstation may be linux-based or windows XP/vista based. the server (linux) authenticates the user.

can you please help me out with this please?

Default

Linux does this by default. The normal user cannot modify workstation settings or anything else. Only root user can change the settings. I've no idea about Windows XP.
