Default Wondering about file creation date and time

Hello All,

I am aware that Unix/Linux does not store file creation date and time as it stores modification/access/change date and time.

But i am not able to find any specific reason behind this . If any one is aware of the reason please explain to me.

Thanks,

inode data structure limitations is main reason to this kind of limitations. This is done to save disk space and to optimize performance. You can view data strcture by in Linux kernel source tree and fs.h header file.
