Default Hello Raj

The easiest way to upgrade the kernel in Fedora is to utilize yum. You will need to become root and then issue the following commands from the terminal. Also note that you will need to have a active Internet connection from the server you are running the below commands on:

Code:
prompt>su -
password

prompt>yum upgrade kernel
This will upgrade the kernel to the latest version. As for downloading the kernel and installing from source. You can obtain the kernel from the source mirrors here:

Code:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/source/SRPMS/
Substitute the proper core version that you want for /core/6/. Once you have obtained the kernel you can issue the standard rpm install.

Code:
prompt>rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6.src.rpm
