Question how to use USB pen drive in linux OS

Hi all,

I have some photos and songs in my USB pen drive,i want to store that photos and song files in to my RHEL5 version,Please can any one help my question?

To Use USB Pen drive into RHEL, just insert it into USB drive slot into your PC.
A POP Up will come to show you the pen drive.

If it isn't happenning, type "dmesg" command & locate your USB PEN Drive.The syntax should be like this.

"USB Mass Storage Device Found /dev/sdb .......etc etc....."

Suppose,you found that "/dev/sdb1" is your PEN Drive letter,then mount that device onto an empty directory.

I have created /mnt/usb directory & the command will be,

mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb

Go to /mnt/usb directory & check whether your photos are there or not.

After work completion, don't forget to un mount the same vloume.

umount /mnt/usb
