Lightbulb Red Hat / Fedora / CentOS Linux Install and USe banner command
Hello All.,,
am trying to write a cool text by using the command "banner"
but the system cannot find the file!
can anyone upload this file for me please?

here is my linux version:-

Linux handlin.pet.ac.il 2.6.25.6-27.fc8 #1 SMP Fri Jun 13 16:38:52 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux


here what i get when i type "banner Hello" :-
bash: banner: command not found

as i know the command banner is placed in "/usr/games"
it seems that the file does not exist either was deleted or renamed!

so if anyone can upload the file banner that i can wget and run it.

when i type :

rpm -ivf banner-1.3.1-5.fc8.i386.rpm

i get this message:-

error: can't create transaction lock on /var/lib/rpm/__db.000

You must be root user to run rpm command.

is there compiled version/file of banner?
such as "portable thing" that just to put and run ?

If you cannot install, then just extract it by running following command on .rpm file:

rpm2cpio banner-1.3.1-5.fc8.i386.rpm | cpio -idmv
cd usr/bin/
./banner
