Default alias database error

I am running 6.1 Freebsd and Postfix 2.3 I am using the Hash: /etc/mail/aliases file. When I issue the command postalias /etc/mail/aliases I get an error that says no mapping in /etc/mail/mailer.conf. In my mailer.conf all the commands point to the correct directory used by postfix.
/usr/local/sbin/sendmail
newaliases commands does the same thing

Hi,
To get hash support you must have db databases support installed on system.

Type following command to see if hash is supported:
Code:
postconf -m
Next run command as follows:
Code:
postalias hash:/etc/mail/aliases
You need to specify hash: before file name.
