Ashish,

I am not personally using BSD and dont know if there is any dialer under BSD. But I do know that if you are using the Hauwei Smart AX MT 882 modem that BSNL provides, then it sure is a router.

I never knew that it was a router. Only after I searched the broadband forums, I got an idea. For this to work, uou need to connect to the modem using its ethernet port and not your USB port.

We need to set the IP address of the BSD(which I think will be easy) to 192.168.1.2 and use a browser to login to the Hauwei Modem thru http://192.168.1.1

Ususally when we use the dialers in the OSes, we make the OS dial. But when we use the Modem/Router to do it for us, the OS is just not considered. We just need to set the gateway of the BSD to be the router.
